Anna Silk was the first daughter of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a actress, playwright, director, producer and professor in St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton. She is the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for plays as a child and watching her mom doing her job. Anna appeared in several advertisements in her youth. Then, in November 1999 Anna relocated to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career. She eventually moving to Los Angeles, California, within the next decade.
