Lucy Liu is a voice actress, director and singer. She is also an actor. Beautiful, intelligent and skilled actor, she's an inspiration to Asian actors aspiring to be big stars in Hollywood. After a series of appearances in popular TV series and movies, she gained fame when she was cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. After her popularity, she was offered important roles on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). She gave a stellar performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. Also, she portrayed leading characters in failed box office films like Rise: Blood Hunter. For animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced characters with prominent voices. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any results. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring part in the show helped Liu establish herself her status as a well-known actor.
